A Monkey Tree was established in 2001.  Odile Gagne started the company selling mostly silk plants, trees, orchids and small gifts. Home decor and humouristic greeting cards slowly got introduced to this hidden store on a side street of Steveston Village.  10 Ten years later, the store has moved on to the main street of this great little fishing village. Now more customers and tourists can enjoy this eclectic store and friendly services from the staff at A Monkey Tree

Renowned for its fun cards where there will always be someone laughing. We promote original art from local artists, bookcases made of reclaimed woodwork  from the Sunshine Coast, locally made jewellery and  we offer a wide variety of fun products  from different parts of the world for their price point.

We support  local fundraising events throughout the year by offering  product donations.

A Monkey Tree and The Steveston Insider have been organizing with great success the Easter Egg Hunt and Trick or Treat in the Village since 2006. The Steveston Merchants Association was introduced in 2010. Now a member, we are promoting these events under this umbrella. Come and enjoy other events such as the The Scarecrow Crawl in the fall and the Christmas event in early December. If you don’t like the crowd enjoy the charm Steveston Village has to offer during the week days.
